Does Money Buy Happiness?
Ever heard of the saying “money doesn’t buy you happiness?” Yea, I’m sure you have. It’s said all the time, and often enough that many people probably accepted this as fact. But it’s a lie. It’s so far from the truth. The actual fact is that simply, money leads to a more satisfying life. It’s going to be tough for a lot of people to accept this fact. They’ve grown up hearing that money won’t bring them happiness all their life. Most believe money is evil. And once they’ve grown up, they don’t have as much money as they thought they would, so that they continue to believe in what they’ve been told. There’s a word for these people. IN DENIAL. These people would sprout phrases like: Money isn’t everything I’m not interested in having money I’ll never be rich Investing is too risky I’ll never be able to afford that. You get the point. It isn’t until when they get older and they realise they don’t have enough to send their children to university, or to retire, that they start to regret not having money. But by then, it’s way too late. For the rich, they have a different view of money. They understand the importance of money. To the rich, they value: Time to spend on themselves, their family, and their friends Having money to invest in causes they believed in Donate to philanthropic causes Being able to do what they want, when they want. The rich understand that in order to be able to do the things they value, they need money. They’re not afraid to hide from this cold, hard truth. People who don’t have money also want to do these things as well. However, their views on money makes it so that they would never be able to do these things. Their views on money prevent them from living the lives they dream of. Money gives you the opportunity to do whatever you want in life. And if that’s not happiness, I don’t know what is. You just need to first figure out what’s important to you. What is it that you’re after? Once you’ve figured that out, you need to acknowledge the fact that money is the vehicle that will help you get there. As Francoise Sagan says, “Money can’t buy happiness, but I’d rather cry in a Ferrari than on a bus”.
